I did a search and found my own question but didnt really got an answer
How do you uncrimp the cap to remove the internal guts.
I want to send my cap to the platers.
Thanks in advance

I plated mine by hanging it top side down in the zinc leaving it intact through the process.

I don't think the platers will be that careful with the cap.
I picture him just pouring all the contents into a pail or something and dunking everything.
But thanks for your reply.

No need to take them apart. Plated several of them. Get a new gasket after plating from 914 rubber.

Wow Really ?? I would think when they dunk it in chemicals it would destroy the inner rubber seal. ??

Just as you said. You use needle nosers or a screw driver to gently straighten the crimped edge. gasket and spring will come out. I did that and plated it at home. You just have to be confident that you can reverse the metal shaping you do to get it apart. A small ball peen should do it.

Polishing was done by a local fellow who polished some of the monsters created by the blastolene brothers.

No they are steel. That must be a whole lot of hours in to making that cap look that good.
