Hi All -

I would like to re-key all the locks on my 914, but I would like to do it myself...

Does anyone have any spare lock wafers they would like to part with? (Or know of a source for them?)

Does anyone have a complete set of all 4 original keys? (Since I am rekeying anyway, it might be cool to start with original Porsche keys vs. cutting repro blanks.)

Or does anyone have any spare / broken lock parts lying around? (If I cannot find a source for the wafers, I suppose I could just mine old hardware.)

Thanks in advance -

Charlie

I sell the tumblers, good quality mild steel and also brass ILCO key blanks. And, if you get stuck, I can also do all the work for you if you change your mind.

Wow!

Thanks Dan. Lots of options here. Let me assess exactly what I have and figure out which way to go.

Hey Charlie: I have a set of decent keys and to key correctly you need only two keys / one master that fits all locks and one (red) key as a valet key that fits only your doors and ignition thereby leaving the thieving valet attendant to stealing, at best, your entire car verses the contents of your glove box or trunks. I have wafers and you can reuse yours to match the keys in a procedure that is posted out there some place. Email me and we can discuss specific needs.

This guy probaly does off of The Samba. I had him do my Jetta locks. Very reasonable.
