i have a set of neew looking webers from my 914-6. my question is are they all safety wired? it says on the side idt, are the rebuild kits the same as an ida?(ther is a set on ebay that's why i ask)
bwilless
I think that the only difference between IDA's and IDT's is some smog type things. I think you can actually modify the IDT's to basically become IDA's. Experts please correct me if I'm wrong.

IIRC the only parts wired on a /6 Weber are the venturii retaining grub screws.

what do you see that is wired ?

i will take a picture and post it tonight

I think Rich is right the only thing wired is the venturi retaining screws.
The Throttle Stops are different as well as the mixture screws. you can use either throttle piece on either carb, but you have to use the correct mixture screws. (there is a 'step' on the IDT, while the IDA is tapered)
