Obviously I would like to avoid Bondo But please tell me what best thing to do would be .
I'm sure a new door and paint etc will be more then 400
But here is the pic of scratch , door rubbed up against a brick fire fireplace ...

I would try paintless dent removal (PDR) first. Some of those guys can work magic.

Is the color/damage "in" the paint or "on" the paint--can be polished out if it's on top--then PDR and you're good to go...

Not sure I follow you The brick scraped thru the white paint and exposed the old blue paint Underneath and dented the door
I'm having a p d r guy come look at it cause I've got nothin to lose buy doing so

I had a PDR guy fix a dent in a Hyundai, and he painted it too. The paint job was fine for a crappy old Hyundai, but would not meet my standards for a 914.

shipping a replacement would be expensive. REAL expensive. ask them how much $ when you bring the car in with EVERYTHING off it that they would have to remove. what ever their hourly rate is, you don't want to pay them to do the task.

Well, did you have to move the sofa to get your car next to the fireplace? And yes PDR works. If you don't have a referral, Stop by any big brand car dealers preowned lot. They'll have a top notch PDR guy one or two days a week there. Pay him directly in cash for a good price.

Ok I got a Guy with skills He fixed it , great job 150
Now I have a primer spot under the door handle the size of a playing card
The p d r guy does not do paint
However he said after looking over the car that It has significant amount of bondo The panel between the hood and windshield has sap and Will need a repaint in 2 years And the rest of the cars paint will last maybe 4 more years of I'm lucky
So he recommend s that I get it painted at a body shop or just Sand it down and spray paint it myself And put more emphasis on getting the entire car done
In the near future
