Holy crap balls batman blink.gif . Okay my car is in the background. While Mike has mentioned this possibility before. I am shocked if this is for real. Although at that price I suppose I'd be tempted to sell it too. Just for the record this is the nicest 914-6 I have ever driven. Car is well sorted in every way. I know it has taken at least one Concours. Not to mention more than one AutoX trophy. Nicest 914-6 getting driven like it should I know of. Love this 6 & you would not be disappointed in this car in any way. Everything is clean & NO rust drooley.gif . Hate to see this get sold Mike. You going to restore your dads 6 & drive that?

Great looking Six!

I never thought I would see the day where a 914 could fetch six figures (or near 6 figures in this case).

Good luck with the sale, it's beautiful!

Since you asked for opinions - no matter how well you jazz this thing up - it's still a 914. I LOVE these things and owned 11 914's back before they were outrageous. But still - think about what you can buy for $100k! The only market for this car is overseas, which is sad. This car is priced like Orange County, CA real estate in 2007-2008. There is inherently no such thing as a $100k 914. Not to say somebody won't buy it but there are still really nice ones around for $50-70k. This one is coming down in price or riding a cargo ship to another continent - call me a prophet.

Of course I am biased (required disclaimer) but I do think these cars are fast approaching the $100K range for well put together Sixes done right.

You could, and maybe did, say the same thing about 356's back in the day and look where they are now? Same with early 911's. As fewer and fewer examples survive and become available, people will dig deeper to own one.

Once Sixes hit 246 Dino GT prices ($350-$450K) I might consider selling my car. So, what...about 20 years after I die?

With this 914 and everything that comes with it, you could assemble the bone-stock, concours ready version and have a $70k car. Then, sell the 2.4, extra wheels, race parts, etc and make almost $30k.

I think I see where that price came from beerchug.gif

that has crossed my mind and one fella asked about that option and I dont think he like my answer because I never heard from him again... but while I own it its tough to wanna put that 2.0 back in, it would have to be rebuilt because I refuse to put it in dirty and leaking

Nice!

Off Topic a bit...I keep imagining myself driving a 914 to work, then I look down at the steering wheel and realize it's just a Subaru Forester, lol. I'm getting to the point where I NEED a 914, but I'll most likely have to wait until next spring to start seriously looking unless I come across something that I cannot pass up.

Do you have any leads on really nice 914-6's for $50 - $70k, I have a friend who has been looking for the last year and is finding total restoration candidates for $45k and nice ones for $85 to $115k! Sounds like you have some interest yourself but missed the boat. Overseas is not the market anymore with the Euro at 1.1 and import fees/taxes very high. Sounds like you are living in the past.
