I have a leak that seems to be coming from my oil cooler seals on the six . The oil cooler is stock.
I don't remember how many bolts are on top . Can someone post a picture showing all the bolts locations . It seems like I can replace the seal without dropping the motor, can I ?

Two nuts at the bottom. Two nuts at the top. Basically a rectangle. The top nuts are only accessible by removing the shroud, unless you have the version it's the removable cooler duct (3.2). The cooler will clear the body though, so yes I can be removed with the engine in the car.

A couple days ago I could have shown that, my car is back together now though.
There are 2 13mm nuts on the top and 2 on the bottom. There are 2 small seals
near the top and one large seal on the bottom for the through-pipe.

With the normal 914-6 engine setup, it is possible to remove while the engine is
still in the car, but not worth it as it takes so much more effort for several things.
Also,with the engine in the car you will need to remove the heat exchanger on
the left side (unless you go crazy and remove everything up top to get the whole
shroud off).

So, instead of replacing 2 cheap CV joint gaskets and dropping the engine, you
need 3 expensive exhaust gaskets and have to attack a lot of the top pieces
through the engine lid and do some things blind.

One other thing; it may not be the cooler or seals leaking. There is a pipe in
many versions of the case that you can see, half behind the cooler and half to
the left of the cooler. Much later the factory had a bulletin about epoxying over
this. Just clean it good with brake cleaner and emery cloth and put some JB Weld
on it.

I am looking at the cooler now and you are right , it may not be the cooler but I can't seem to find the nipple you are referring to. Any pics ?

Found a pic on pelican. You can't see it because it was already epoxied, but it
is exposed under the cooler and also on the left of it.

It could also be the case through bolt leaking. These have O rings and they are a leakage point for sure.

Jake, you may be right.

after slightly tighten the case bolt right above the leak, It seems like Its gone ( Keeping my fingers crossed) I drove the car for an hour with no signs of the leak.

I will update the thread if it resurfaces.
