Judging from the WCR Wine Tasting Tour, I thought some of you might be up for a "local" Wine Tasting Tour w/ the wives. This is an excellent opportunity to add some "brownie points" with the wife which translates, "more 914 time for you". We can do lunch here (on me) then move on to the wineries. It's something that we would need to do before (or after) it gets too hot. If 7-8 of you commit I'll put it together.

There you are Cesar. I figured if I raised the Red Wine Flag you'd find us. You mean the 911? Claro que si. Or anything else you want to drive. Last week I saw that pic of you holding that Pineapple sized Pine Cone.

Hey wait a minute. The 14th and 21st are both on Sunday and Wine is free at Church.

Sooooo, how about Sat the 13th and Sat the 20th as an alternate date? Have lunch here then hit the wineries. After that peeps can head home as we'll be close to the 15. Sound like a plan????

OK, the 20th sounds good. Unless that shakes the majority, lets run with it. I'll recheck this tonite when I get home and confirm the date.

As always there is no perfect date and the 20th appears to be the best for this event. I wish the PCA would have picked another date but there's no reason we can't do this again in Autumn.
So here is the plan:
Lunch 12-1 arrive a little early for 914 "mind melt" and BS sessions. I won't be serving any alcoholic beverages as we will be having wine after lunch.
1-3 Wine Tasting Tour
Attendee's (so far):
Eddie and Munda
Ethan K. + 1
Paul K. + 1
Cesar + 1
Don-6 + 1
Forrest/ Susan
Ravi + 1

Susan and I will attend if I can get my new motor sorted out and road-tested prior to the 20th. As of yesterday, the motor is in and running but has an untested side shifter tranny to be hooked up today and a weird ignition wire issue with no juice to the fuel pump???.

How'd did you get it started with a non-working fuel pump?

You have 3 weeks; I'm sure you'll have things sorted out by that point.

Well Horse Feathers. I figured someone would get shot down. We'll do it again come late Oct/early Nov.
I'll get a final head count later this week then call the 1st five wineries on my list to be sure they can accommodate us reasonably well. Who knows; some may be interested in having a few collector cars on their lot

We're getting close so I need a "Head Count". Please refer to post #25. If you need your name added or deleted, let me know. Now for the teaser. Last weekend I did a brisket on my new smoker and OMG, 18 hr's later, you could cut it with a plastic fork. Think I'll throw in some Hot Links, Roasted Corn on the Cobb, Homemade Potato Salad and Banana Pudding.

So how far do you usually travel for bad wine, Elyut? Besides, our wines aren't half bad. Here is another shocker. I had some tasty Texas Wine last year. The Journey's never too far nor the Spirits imperfect when combined with friends.

Does the term "Herding Cats" come to mind?...... I suggest someone with a sense of authority pic a date and place and lets see who gets there on time and prepared to have a good time. The summer in SoCal is upon us and it gets over 85 over the hill in July.
And after all, sometimes even with a few less cars attending, after a while, it seems like a mile of cars...
Barbara Jane Fuchs: Come down and see the, uh, mile of cars we have on our lot. Rudy: Did she just say "mile of cars"?

Jun 11 2015, 08:21 PM
Uh Forest, we already did that. See post #25. Just been awaiting a response from you. When did you get out? Hope you didn't get the same judge twice in a row. That happened to Elyut one time. He couldn't go back to Utah for 7 years.

That works. My daughter and son in law will probably do the same. I'm just getting the head count this week then call the 5 wineries on my list to see if we can get parking, etc. I'll post the wineries and pm my cell# next week.

I made a few calls today and most could not be helpful given that we will be in the rush hour. However, Doffo Winery
http://www.doffowines.com/about-doffo/ was nice enough to spend some time with me on the phone and wants to accommodate us and our parking needs. They are also the closest one on our route. Down the street is Wilson Creek with tons of parking but it may be a Jungle that afternoon. If it is we head to Wien's which is reasonably priced and also great place but it too may be packed as it is on Rancho Cal Rd. If that's the case we hit some of the Wineries on De Portelo Rd. There are several off the beaten path but we will be "time challenged" and if we squeeze in 3 wineries I'll be surprised. Most of these places close around 6 on Saturday. Check out Doffo's site. He collects and displays antique motorcycle's.
Looking forward to it.
