setup in your car with the backpad installed. Looking at some pics I saved and came across your seat belt setup. I want to keep my backpad and I am interested in what mods you had to do to your backpad? Can I see a few pictures of the mounting thru the backpad please pray.gif

My car is a 70, so I will only be doing the driver side unless I can figure out a good way for the passenegr side also.

Thanks!

looks like eye bolts thru the Fwall and clip on harnesses.

That's what I'm thinking but I would like to know for sure. I'm also interested if he had to beef up the area where he cut the backpad. I have a spare backpad and once I make the mod for the racing belts I want to send my backpad to DR Evil to get recovered.

RE reinforcement: most people use a plate in the engine bay (MrT did too...)

RE backpad: My DrEvil backpad rocks!perfect sewing job etc.... (ask mikeZ what it smells like after he dumped beer on it) dry.gif laugh.gif

It's an easy set-up.

Just drill through the back pad and set the HUGE washers over the hole and put the eye-bolts in. wink.gif

Huge washers and double nuts in the engine bay.

A single nylock nut may pass as well, *may*.

I braved the cold to give you this...

And that's exactly what mine look like in the cabin.

The funny thing about the double-nutting is that Trekkor's car would not pass in many places I've been because the back-up washers on the engine side are not large enough. That's why my backing plates are so large.
