Right. A few trips later with the 914, all is still perfect. And that gives me chance to consider a few things.

I live in a woodland area and it's wise to use DRLs (Daylight Running Lights) when one's driving through the woods. Modern cars have the LEDs and, my other classics have 'build-in' headlights. But I need to turn up the headlight on the Teener when I want others to see me. And honestly, I think it spoils the lines of the car...

How do you solve this?

Get some of Spoke's front turn signals and run your car with the parking lights on.

The standard 914 fog lights could work as DRLs. This way you keep the 914 headlights down.

I wired my fogs so they come on any time the switch is pulled, My Pilot lights make pretty bright DRL's.

They also stay on with the highbeams...I miss Crusty telling me I'm an idiot for doing this...

I wired in sone LED lights around the existing fog lights. Mine is a 75 so I have square fogs. Pretty easy, really bright, and cheap. I have an extra set if you want to see them.

I wired driving lights where my fog lights used to be. There are some highways here that require daylight driving lights and that is what I use them for. They are also wired so I can flash them when they are not on, with my high beam/turn signal lever.

Did you use the JWest foglight module/kit or do your own custom wiring?

I too have and use driving lites for daytime visibility. I believe this mod is more effective as I see drivers heads turn as we pass. I don't expect anyone else to paint these Yellow but "Kugel" is modified anyway. Anything that makes them see ya.

I used the JWest kit.

Replaced my fog lights with the pilot lights for that very reason, daytime running lights. I like to drive with the headlight buckets closed, but when I do pop them up by pulling the headlight switch the extra click tou can have both sets of lights on which gives pretty good illumination. I need to keep a lookout for moose where I live so night driving needs good lighting!

I agree.

I wired my fog lights so that they are run by the headlight relay that is not active unless the ignition is on. The switch no longer requires the headlights to be on. So the outcome is I never turn off the fog lights and they come on every time I start the car. Also if it is grey I run the parking lights as well. I have to remember to shut those off when I stop the car and am considering changing them in some way so I do not forget.
Usually it is just the front fogs. I don't like having the headlight buckets open driving in daytime.

But I have Spoke's LEDs front and rear. So I can run the parking lights with the front turn signals running in white when in the non signal mode.
