Thanks, I try... although gauges can be a bear to photograph because of the reflection and glare issues. Bumpers and chrome in general are the worst; I don't know how the guys selling those get such good shots. My attempts are always dismal failures.

make a light tent to shoot reflective items..

basically, you use white paper to tent the item.

it diffuses the light..

sometimes, if the item is small you can make a

cone from white paper and shoot down thru the opening.

in the studio I crank up the strobes to their highest power output 1000W

and use an additional large white diffuser between the strobe and the subject.

this allows me to shoot around f16



this image is in the studio and using one of those large painters paper throw away

drapes.. f32 @ 1/60
