Andy, you may be able to get a close match with some of the old school rub-on lettering sheets - if the font is close enough - & if the sizes available are right.
On the switches the trick will be to get a matte clear sealer coat over the letters once transferred, so they won't rub off in use.
I think a few places still sell them either new or NOS. Being an Architect IIRC, you'll know where to look.
And he's correct in saying "font" for his purposes, because he's looking for an entire alpha-numeric set to make up various lettering.
The logo can only apply to specific uses limited to each one & only if & when each one is specifically registered as a trademarked logo - such as "914" can be a logo if properly registered, but "world" is & cannot because it was NEVER part of a car model name etc..
However, the creators of the specialized fonts - such as those created by Porsche & other auto makers can copyright their special fonts, but copyrights have a life after which they go into the public domain - trademarks & servicemarks do not.
Had to go thru all that at one point in biz school & then for somethings we created & articles which I'd written for publication, etc. back in the day.
That's why I questioned whomever pushed SirAndy to change the 914world script from the 914 style it was originally in, since they could only do so with the 914 part, unless they also copyrighted an entire alpha-numeric font,
Sometimes the in-house attorneys for companies like to make work for themselves & make them supposedly invaluable, while they completely f-up the market support from the very public which supports their commercial enterprises.
Disney did the same thing when they started suing childcare places for painted murals, but you noticed they've not in a while cuz they got so much bad press. It used to be that ole Walt gave out FREE full color oversized coffee table books of Disneyland, & when asked why free, he said because it was FREE advertizing in millions of homes!
The Porsches & Pieches should take a lesson, & learn to differentiate when it is free advertising for them on websites like this one, etc.!!
Good Luck Andy!
Tom
