Click to view attachment What is this center console? i know its aftermarket is it at all valuable?
Click to view attachment What exactly are these?
Click to view attachment I see alot of v8 and performance swap cars have the tubs

1) AMMCO?
2)In modern day cars they are drains so the ecoat can drain out of the cars after they are immersed in ecoat. Because we don't have ecoat something else had to drain out?
3) air has to escape somewhere to have max cooling effectiveness.

I picked the car up yesterday.74-914.
Took it to my brother who is a VW nut and asked him where do you check for coolant.
Glad I did not have to ask here LOL.

I'm glad I found this thread...
Can I use steelie lug bolts for 2.0l alloys?

NO you must use the correct bolts, steel wheel bolts are to short for alloy wheels, they only go in a couple of turns.

Yes, in the sense that an overheated engine will slow the car down.
If you see the tub cut out like that, you should also see a radiator in the front.

RE #2: Those plugs are all around the 914. One theory which make sense to me is that the spot welders use those holes to access parts of the chassis for welding. Then they were filled with those plugs and seem-sealed.

Now, My own stupid ?.
I have been thinking through the Subaru conversion process. I would like to engineer as complete a unit as I can which would contain/hold the engine, ECU, exhaust and, yes, even radiator(s). As close to plug and play as possible.
Having read lots about the poor airflow around the back of the car for cooling, I understand why everyone has gone with the front mount rad. I have also read about some folks who have ducted air through the front bumper to the front brakes for cooling.
Do you see where I'm going here?
Here comes the stupid part...
Could enough air be ducted from the bumper, through the frunk, into the longs and back to the engine bay and through the rad(s).
There would be an electric fan as well, pulling air from the tail end.
I'm sure some air would get through. But enough??

(European specs) "I've never seen a VW like this before. What type is it?"
(In general): "Can you still get spare parts for these cars?"
(Close to insult): "Do you really like the shape of this? It doesn't look like a real Porsche, does it!?"
