We did this interview at the Porsche swap meet at the beginning of our 914 Experience. I was setting up my mics when John who I never met before came up to me and ask Me how I feeling after my heart attack. He then told me about his sickness. he did say he was at peace. We will all miss you John.

Thanks Jaime and Eric. You guys are class acts, just like the Cap'n was. Like him, you're keeping his passion alive. Thanks for giving us a little insight into who he was outside of here.

I met him at the first Parts Heaven Swap Meet I went to. Given his screen persona, I was not expecting the great depth of humanness I found. He didn't have what I was looking for, but he knew who did and walked me the 50 yards down the street to where it was, leaving his own booth unmanned. Small thing but unexpected. Sometimes the unexpected is the measure of a man. In our world, this was a great man...

I remember seeing the new 914.s in the lot as a kid in the 70's.

So glad you guys were able to get an interview with John, it was really very special to put a face and name with the Capt.
Can't express how good it was to see him "in the flesh" as it were.

Truly says what the 914 experience is in very few elegant words. A true reflection of who and what Cap'n Krusty is. Will miss he and the best to his family. Will think of him often when working on my car.
Thanks for posting. Great tribute to the Cap'n.

Think about it. We are the last group to drive vintage Porsches hard, fast and for the majority, daily. Totally get that. I am so glad you were able to get that interview. Thank you.

Thanks for posting that.
I think the board should honor him with (at the very least) one of the forums. Should the garage be named in his honor? Howard got a screen color palette. Lapuwali got a classic thread. Certainly the Cap'n, who seemed to be most prolific here in the garage, is deserving. Here, here!!
