So, I have accumulated 4 steering wheel hubs. The hubs have come through direct purchases or a steering wheel and were sold to me as 914 or 911. None are for 914-4. I am trying to identify if they may be 914-6 which is the same as early 911, 912, 356B and C. At least one of them is for a 914-6 (MOMO C230).

I would like to borrow for one day a 914-6 (911 68-74) steering shaft like in the diagram. I do not need an entire steering column and it can also be in less than perfect condition. I just need the steering wheel splines to be in good condition to do a test fit onto the hubs.

Thanks in advance.

Early 914-4 hubs are identical to 914-6 and early 911. If your 914-4 hub ends in 10, it's early. 11 it's 1972 and later.

Hi Mark,
The steering wheel hubs I have are aftermarket hub adapters like MOMO and others. These are not 914-4 early or late. I have test fit them onto 914-4 steering shafts; both 70-71 and 72-76. I did some research on MOMO adapters and 914-6/911/912/356b-c indicates MOMO hub #0230 or #C230. For 914-4 MOMO lists hub #8000 and 8002 respectively. I know for certain one of the hub adapters I have is a C230 (0230). Upon visual inspection, all of the hubs I have appear to be the same, but I need to confirm what they are as I want to sell them and I don't want to mislead or misinform the buyer.

Those shafts are very rare.

The shaft on an early 4 or a 6 will have the same splines. Actually a late 4 will also have the same splines, just not seat all the way if early or late are mixed.
