got914?
What do you know about these 2 H6's
Ive got a chance to get both and would obviously make a great swap.
76-914
The EZ30 is only 2.5" longer than the 2.5 4 cyl. Lighter than the EG series. Either is a big improvement over a tired 40yo engine. FWIW, I believe Bob (BIGKAT83) is the only one of us that has personal experience w/ both the EG & EZ series 6's.

76-914, might want to recheck that length, I seem to recall the length of an EZ30 is only 1" to 1-1/4" (30mm?) compared to an EJ25. The EG33 is considerably longer because it uses the EJ architecture with an extra cylinder. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic...sc&start=29

The answer might lie in your fabrication skills, I don't think an EG33 clears the bulkhead with Ian's (Coldwater914) engine cradle. So you might need to plan your own mount/cradle if you go the EG33 route.

There is also the EZ30D vs. EZ30R question . . . .

ez30d..... only an inch longer and about 75lbs more than 4. easier install and no fancy computers, about 215 hp.. very nice in a 914.
More of them.

the r requires more knowledge on the computer side to gain benefit of the extra horse power
