Can someone recommend an oil temperature dipstick that would work on a six with stock oil tank?

Thanks,

Why not use the temp sender on the engine?

I am not sure how accurate my gauge is. Any suggestions?

Just the other day I wanted to check the accuracy of my temp sender.

I poked a thermocouple down the dipstick tube and plugged it into my craftsman digital multi-meter ($30 @ sears).
The VDO seemed to be right on temp.

Thanks ,
I picked up the multimeter and happy to report that my gauge is not accurate . I went for a long drive and the car ran at a maximum of 180 degrees F . I was afraid that it was running hot . I made note of the markings and will label the gauge .

Thanks for the tip .
