I have a bunch of nice side shifter shift consoles.

Replace your console with the hogged out bushing hole, start your side shift conversion, or get a spare to use for a Tangerine Racing shift rod upgrade.

How does a spare help with the Tangerine upgrade ?

You could cut down / modify / attach the Tangerine linkage hardware to a spare shift console and then just easily take your old one off your transaxle under the car and install your modified one right away.

Your car would still be drivable while you make the necessary shift console mods.
