So, I found out why Frankenstealth wasn't getting a charge...the D+ was not connected to the charge circuit....NOW when hooked up to the dash bulb, it charges at 14+ volts and the light goes off after the engine fires at goes to 900 rpms...it will flicker if I lower the idle....

But when the ignition is turned off, the engine keeps running. Disconnect the charge bulb circuit it shuts off when the key switch is turned to off........

Do I need some kind of resister inline to discharge the exciter circuit?

BTW...it's a fireball ignition system...

You have a wiring issue. What year and model alternator? Internal regulator? When you turn on the key, the bulb should light, and at NO other time other than very low idle. Call me at the shop. The Cap'n
