I have what would seem as a very easy question but I cant figure it out. I bought a 914 last summer with the engine removed and half way taken a part. I cant figure out what size it is the engine number is 004.101.102a. Can anybody help me figure out what I have.

car serial # is 4752904187
type47
whoops! your car serial number says the car is 1975. '75's had either 1.8L (EC code engine) or 2.0L (GA or maybe GB engine code) your engine says 1.7L which was engine in 70-73 cars. that might not be a bad thing if the car is in running condition.

That is not entirely accurate, the 75 engine number would be and EC or EB for a 1.8 and the 2 liter for 75/76 had a GC or GB code. Check it if you dont believe me, most people never trust me on that but I assure you, I am correct.
