Jim passed last night and will be missed. Here is a picture of Jim and Rod, at Rod's shop, working on my 1.8L engine, from about 1 month ago.

What!?
What's the story, I didn't even know he was that old, this is a shock to me!
He was always upbeat and easy to talk with.
Met him when I wax first shopping for a 914, his was the first 914 I ever looked at up close.
Man, this is a tough one...

I am deeply shocked and saddened by this news.
I met Jim at my very first Hershey show long before my car was on the road. An absolute gentlemen and a pleasure to hang out with.
He was always willing to help people out. Both on 914world and in real life. Just last week he dropped off a loaner ECU at Matt's for me to borrow. He then suggested a work party to help get Matt's car back on the road.
RIP Jim. Deepest condolences to his family. He was a good man.

Met Jim at the first Posche swap meet I went to some years ago. I went by myself and didn't know anyone there. I saw a white 914 and as I approached it he asked, "Hey, you want to buy it?". He befriended me there and has always "been there". He always had a cool calming effect about him. Jim, you will truly be missed; a great friend and person. The events won't be the same ...... RIP.

Holy shit no.
No.
:-(
Jim was one of the core guys at Mid Atlantic events. He helped me with the Mid Engine Invasion for years, and was one of the first guys to pick up the slack after I burned out. He's been up to my place many times to help with stuff. Just an all around good guy. I knew he had been having health issues that kept him from Hershey this year, but last I talked with Jim he was recovering well.
You are going to be missed.

Shocking and sad news. Had been in touch with Jim recently and he seemed to be recovering nicely. One of the good guys in our midst. Here's a pic from Latimore a couple years ago. Jim was explaining something to Bob (Saigon71). It was either imitating how the rust mites come out when the garage lights go out or how to SQUEEZE every ounce of power out of a type IV. Things wont be the same without you Buddy. My condolences to his family and the NOVA guys who were close with him.

If you haven't looked at Jim's blog it's pretty cool. We should link it somehow to the "classics" section. Some projects and a HUGE collection of 914 VINs and photos. He should have his own memorial VIN# like 4742944747.
