Will be interesting to see the hammer price.

Very interesting. This could set the 2.0 market out of my reach now, lol. Maybe I'll just have to bid on it, ha!

I will be in Reno for Hot August Nights for my Company. Don't know if I'll be able to slide over to B-J

August 6-8 are the dates of the auction, looks to be about the 17th car on the block.
iwanta914-6
The classic car auction begins tomorrow. I better get set up to bid, lol.

iwanta914-6

$15,950 otd.

Lower than I would have thought unless it isn't as restored as it sounds.

? restored what parts ? is the essence of the question

- BJ descriptions have to be read with a keen eye

several of us who were there were suspicious that the engine had not been touched save for cleaning & the touted new electrics

- why not feature "engine restored" ? or at least rebuilt with all new parts if in fact so done?

- the paint was nice with light orange peel; not color-sanded nor buffed to perfection

- we tho't it was "well sold" for well more than we had guessed

- so it sets a nice high bar for nice looking 914-4s

same day - an equally nice '73 MGB sold for only $6600 gross

I actually world have guessed higher, closer to 16k, but you can get a deal at auctions.
