I have a 75 914. My front trunk does not have the curved brace in the picture from a 73 914. Am I missing this due to possible front end damage? Instead, there are 3 threaded holes on each side toward the front corners in the shape of a triangle.Click to view attachment

I just looked at a 75 yesterday ( with the BUBs) and it also did not have the curved piece that my 73 has. I guess the wooden trunk piece just rests on top of the spare. .. this car did not have a spare in it.

those three hole may have been for the bumper shock mounts.

No curved sheet metal panel in my 76. I am not sure when this was eliminated, but probably with the 75-76 shock mounted bumpers.

Thanks for the reply's. Makes sense that it was eliminated in 75 to gain access for the shock absorber bumpers.

It was added in 72, I think, and removed for the 75 model year.
