Installing new injectors in my 1.8L injected motor.
I have looked everywhere and not much info.
I want to change out my old injectors but worried about fuel pressure.
I tried swapping out my fuel filter and after several minutes of fuel everywhere,I really dont want to have the same problem with my injectors.
Is there a way to run the fuel out,or something to lesson the fuel thats going to spill out.
I tried removing the fuel pump relay but car is still running.
Any help would really be appreciated.
1974 1.8Lfuel injected motor.
Thanks Grant.

Get a couple hose clamp tools to pinch off the fuel lines. These from Matco:

Disable the fuel pump by pulling the power to it and crank the engine to relieve the fuel pressure. The clamps help too.

I have sent old injectors to the fuel injection corporation. They rebuild them and the use new hoses and crimped on clamps. $35.00 each plus shipping.

Thanks for the input.
I swapped 2 out last night with new ones from Stand motor i believe.
One had a tear on the small seal and was slightly wet with gas.
The other one was just dirty.
Car sat for 15 years and from what I have been reading, the best solution is replacement.
On a positive note: Car runs really good.
My oil consumption seems to have gone down to almost nothing.
car has so much power compared to before.
Drove for about 1/2 hour what a blast.
I did change the oil and new old stock Mann filter.
Also tightened down my positive clamps, and now car starts when I turn the key,no more turning key off and on until it decided to run.
Will change out the other injectors tonight.
Nice to have some good news for a change.

BTW, the fuel pump relay on the L-jet cars isn't on the relay board. It's part of the "dual relay" that hangs off the battery tray.
