One of my all time favorites...
The car was a beast. Shows what Roger Penske could do when he has no limits. Beautiful car.
An awesome car. I had the distrinct pleasure of watching Roger drive it at the Lime Rock Rennsport Reunion in 2001. There was another 917/30 in identical livery on track at the same time. Absolutely awesome.
Friggin' flat 12 twin turbo capable of ludicrous acceleration ... Heard it could do 0-200+mph in about 10 seconds. Over 1,000 hp in racing tune, around 1,500 hp claimed in qualifying tune. 
We will likely never see anything like it ever again, at sanctioned road racing anyway. Would love to see (and hear!) that car someday!
