So my ranger bench 60-40 seat is torn to s#it on the drivers side

I tried going the stock replacement route but could only find
Extended cab seats on Craig's list
And from what I understand regularly cab seats and bracket s
Are different from extended cab seats and bracket s

Can anyone with ranger experience confirm this ????

So I think I'm just gonna go with a procar seat aka scat for about
200$ and use their Ford ranger bracket which is supposed to
Bolt right in and seat right in to bracket
I'm 6-2 so seat will always be in the all the way back position
And something that sits lower then stock would be good
I m assumeing seat belts will be retained and not sure about
Airbag or seatbelt wire that plugs into bottom of stock seat .

Am I going the right direction here or is there a better way .

I thought about the whole 're upholstered route but not sure what that cost .

Advice please. ! pray.gif

Hello

If the Ranger is like any other truck, the floor mounts are the same, so the buckets n brackets from the same era should bolt in. A Ranger forum would tell you for sure.

$200 should get you most of the bench recovered. Shop around a little.

Thanks for the reply

I looked at forums

Here is what I found
I may be interpretinng this incorrect but

One other word of warning Ranger Standard-cab, Ranger Supercab and Bronco II's all have different floor pan profiles and so use different seat tracks, so if you want to put buckets or a split-bench into a std cab Ranger you must get your seat tracks out of a std cab Ranger.

I bought a pair leather seat from a later tbird and used one in the passenger position
It worked okay. The reason was that the original passenger seat was trash
I never got around to mounting the other seat, these are separate bucket with seat heaters and electric back and forth action
I still have the one drivers side seat available. If wanted it is big and heavy $150.

WTF.gif with the WTF.gif

I didn't start the post, which should have been in the sandbox for being off topic.

914 content--- My Nissan truck's bench and buckets are bolt in swaps. My truck brought home from the wrecker the Nissan engine in my 914, plus towed it a few times, and a few others, and parts. Thus this thread is six degrees of Kevin Bacon beer.gif

thelogo- I didn't get too far into it but it looks like you have a few options. It might surprise folks where the OEMs decide to cut engineering costs.
dangerranger01
You are right. Only standard cab seats fit into standard cab rangers. Extended cabs won't fit in yours. The issue is that the seat rails are riveted to the seats themselves.

Is your model an XL? I went with Edge model seats and they are sooooo much more comfortable. I also heard of guys dropping in mustang seats but heard they lost some room. I am 6'-2" so I need all i can get.

If i were you, i would try to find standard cab Edge model seats, or just get seat covers. Not worth the hassle of the air bag sensors to swap in some shitty aftermarket "race" seat.

Source: I daily a 2001 standard cab Ranger for the last 11years.
