Hi,
I seem to remember reading an article somewhere that explained how to reseal and recaulk a rear window in a 914. Anyone know where the article can be found or know the best way to reinstall this window?
Cheers, Elliot

Clean the channels really well. Per Brad, use brake cleaner. It removes lots of residue and old sealant too!

Make sure the engine lid to glass seal is installed.

Get the rope butyl tape mounting stuff (I think 3M makes it). Start at the center of the top and insert it into the channel all the way around.

Be sure to replace the two rubber spacer blocks along the bottom ledge.

It helps to get suction grips to hold the glass.

Make sure the glass is really cleaned well.

Position the glass pressing the top side in forst and then the bottom edge.

Press firmly all the way around to seal.

That's it!

Note: you may want to calk the corners where the inside sail panel meets the rear firewall.
