I suspect I have an intake leak on the 3/4 side due to recent slightly higher AFR and head temps on that side. Looking at the head to manifold gasket, it looks kinda roached. But I haven't pulled it off yet to say for sure. I figure gaskets are cheap so I might as well just buy them anyway before I start taking things apart.

Initially I thought you're supposed to use paper gaskets with carbs, and after some searching here I saw that some people were saying to use phenolic gaskets. Not sure which route to go here. I've got paper gaskets on there right now, and I've never experienced any fuel issues. And my head temps until recently were pretty good. I'm wondering if they'd improve even more with phenolic gaskets.

What do you carb'd folks recommend? And what's the best place to buy them?

Get the FI phenolic spacers, they work really well with carbs.

They come with thin paper on each side and i like to use just a very light coat of sealant on both sides.

Awesome, thanks! I'll pick up a set.
