No I am not trying to install it into the magazine!

the bottom is not suppose to be flaired out like in the picture when new. . . . looks like that one has been reused?? when the pin is pushed down, that is what flairs out the lower portion and locks it is place.

Squeeze the tongs together and press them in, then tap the pin in from the top. confused24.gif

Tried that many times but the rod part just bends and will not press through. Even tapping it very carefully. Thats the way they should work. The black ones seem to be made of a harder material that you can tap. These clear ones are very soft.

Got this figured out. If one looks closely the post is one piece moulded to the top. You must cut off the top or snap it off. This leaves a hole in the end. Sometimes the hole is not perfectly round and it helps to put a dental pick through it and smmoth it out. Then reverse the post to the smooth end and push it a small way into the pin. Place the piece into the hole and tap the pin in with the hammer. If you try just tapping it the fact it is molded as one piece will always result in just bending it out of shape.
