Just got my new fuel pump hooked on on my 73, i did the 75-76 conversion like you guys told me. Is the pump spose to only run a few seconds and shut off before you crank it? Mine seems to do that. Tried cranking it over and it just back fired on me when i used starter fluid. Any tips will help. Ima swap my plugs tomorrow and go from there. I saw someone say i have to switch my fuel filter with that new pump?

This is my fuel filter, good or bad?

Yes, it is supposed to run then stop. I do not see any gas in the filter. Cannot see how the plumbing is for the pump.

Exactly , its sucking fuel but stops so im not sure what the deal is.

It is supposed to run for a few seconds and while cranking. It should continue running while the engine runs.
