Cleaning up this area for a new battery tray and to see what kind of a mess might be there. Woohoo! Just some surface rust to treat and POR-15. After some of the horrors I've seen here, I feel lucky!

What year is that? My 73 doesn't have those round holes through the firewall and into the wheelwell. What are they for?
(well, it has holes but they aren't round and are much less intentional)

It's a '73. The holes into the wheel well are indeed for A/C hoses, they're gone, and the holes are getting filled in, as is the cut-out in the right side engine shelf. The lower one in the firewall is where the Megasquirt brain to MS relay cable is coming thru.
