Full Version: more "spacing" out :) front billet spacers...

I've only had these rims for about a year I think....I bought them with hopes of putting them on my car for last years WCC....no dice, no running car...

the reason for the spacer is to move the wheels further out on the front since the 914 has about a 2" narrower track in the front than the rear....

when time permits, I'll machine a few pockets into the spacers to remove some weight off of them..
Aaron Cox
was that rotor at the bootom of the pacific? ohmy.gif laugh.gif
Mueller
as you can tell I have not driven the car with the new hubs/rotors installed yet smile.gif

oh yea, for Tim, yes, I made these to be hub-centric smash.gif

Mueller
no, this rotor sat in the back of Brads truck under a few feet of snow wacko.gif

car needs to be lowered for sure ohmy.gif

holy crap- sorry- jeebus! is that frankenfender?

I've got those exact rims and it's going to be a while before I get to try them on the car. A few questions:

Are those 1" spacers?
Do the fronts still fit under the fenders (unaltered) with the spacers?
Are your tires 205/45's or 50's?

car had an "encounter" with Bambi's mother biggrin.gif

I cannot complain too much....$300 for an otherwise solid chassis.....rims and tires cost 4X the price of the car wacko.gif

i think i recall that thread, never did see the ending though.

spacers are 1.125" thick, I figured I could always remove material if too thick....

tires are 205/40/17s....hope the ride is not going to be too harsh....

front fenders are stock, looks like I'll be able to lower the car with no issues.....

my rims have a 47mm offset.....yours should have a 35mm offset

a few other people with the revolutions are running 1/2" or so spacers on the front, you don't have to, its just how you like the look...

40's huh? Should handle like it's on rails, just don't hit any potholes. wacko.gif

I'd be interested to see how everything fits and looks once you get your car back on the ground. Hopefully you will post something when this happens.

I'm saving up for some Koni Yellows, those should help on the ride....Mike Rose is running 195/50-15's on his 914 and with the Konis set at full soft, the ride is quite nice....I'm running stock swaybars right now so that'll help keep the ride somewhat bearable....

Also, I'll be running the needle bearings on the suspension, that makes a huge difference since I won't be fighting the stiff, hard rubber bushings......
Dad Roberts
BIG biggrin.gif .......difference tween 195x50-15s......and 205x40-17s....been there done that. Also thinkin bout airshocks on the front.....obviously not the handling answer, but I hear it will help my ride and control the height, too. I will let ya know.......................Dad driving.gif
