Just spent some time going over my 76 914. Its got some hell hole rust, and also under the passenger seat. Going to need that portion of the pan replaced. The rest of the car is in really good shape, body wise. Wierd flares that show no signs of welding, I think they are rolled. Messed up 14" wheels. One trunk hinge mount is broken. I got the engine running once about 10 yrs ago. I have no desire to do a resto on it. I do not want to have a 914 that I have to smog. Should I part it out? Or sell as a complete car? Here are some pics.

Fred Flintstone would love that car. av-943.gif I'd part it out.

What size are the wheels? I ran 6x14 minilites back in the late 1980s (when you could still get good 14" tires).

x2 on the part out imho.

14", not sure on the width.

I have a feeling I would make more $$ parting it out.

Ship it to the East Coast...... That's a common condition around here.... lol-2.gif

Sell it. Clean it up and take better pictures. If you part it, you'll make more money and have parts all over the place for the next 20 years.

Agreed; agree.gif
Clean it up as best you can and list it in the classifieds. If it's a rest free as indicated, easy fix for someone so inclined

It would be a perfect project for an east coaster. And you could do what you want with the engine.

What do ya'll think its worth?

And more work and one less 914. We seem to think they grow on trees. Look at cary914 or others who have been strong. Sell it and move on. If you are willing to work that hard to part it out, you will get the money anyway.

You answered your own question....1976 cars and newer have to pass smog in Calif. Sell that puppy.
