Full Version: Front End Strap Twist?

As I was installing a Turbo Tie rod kit on my recently acquired 70, I found the right hand securing strap(?) had a big twist. No idea how this could have happened?

Looks like everything is square but would like some advice.

What did the front pan look like? You normally see bends like that from the car being hit in the front corner of the fender and pushing everything back. Look at the chassis specs and take some measurements under there. You will probably find some side to side difference.

also the globs of seam sealer / tar looks like something to cover up damage. Hopefully it was repaired ok and this is not a problem.

That fuel line is going to fail. Prob at the worst possible time.
