looks like the paint has changed over the years...
maybe a mirror added...and removed...
or this could be one of five remaining of the original car...which happens
from time to time as cars become more dear.

Her car went to shambles,. It was found and redone. The car AFAIK, is the real one, the paint is a damn close approximation, but not at all the original job. It was on tour a couple years ago at several museum across the U.S.

My cousin played bass in a L.A. garage band "The Shades of Sound "...was the warm-up group for Janis/ Big Brother + the Holding Co.
It was in Hollywood at Dave Hull's Hullabaloo , today the Nickelodeon Theatre. Janis was as wild as she looks and could belt out those songs !¡!

I grew up in Marin Co. and made numerous trips to Winterland and the Fillmore. One lucky time I met her backstage at a small club in San Anselmo talked with her for about a half hour before they went on. I even got her autograph. It was some crazy times back then being a teenager.

Wouldn't be surprised if Paul Allen bought it. Given his love and acquisitions of things related to rock and roll. I wonder if it will show up at the EMP? Chump change for him. Obvisously not the original paint job. Driver's side mural is wrong.

Too many of the greats and/or would-have-beens have succumbed to the dark side. Tempting for some but ultimately undoes some great talents. Survivors are rare and sometimes under appreciated until they're gone. Others have recovered only to have life taken away (Stevie). Some, their bodies just give out after years of struggle (recently, Scott).
Here's to livin' high and enjoying what we've got while we have it...
