I've cut my gas tank in two (along its lenght) cleaned it (removed a considerable 6 pounds of dirt from it!!! ) sandblasted, and now i want to treat it for rust prevention.
so the question is how to do so, weld first (obviously... i think )then what are the products used to treat the tank, and how is it done?

POR 15 has a kit for cleaning, etching and sealing the tank. I'd be worried that I coulnd't weld it all so it is water tight. But it looks as though the tank was spot welded around the perimeter?
