I'm trying to figure out the shift/gear position of the tail shift transmission. I've tried about ever search I could thing of but came up with nothing. So, which one of these is correct? the first or second one?
Thanks

Should be the first picture but you can check it by pulling out the shift arm to what you think the 1st/reverse position. Shift into 1st, turn the mainshaft inside the bell housing and see which way the axle flanges turn. Then shift into reverse; they should turn the opposite direction.

I agree, perfect explanation.
