There have been a number of questions regarding the track layout. This has been posted before, but FYI here is a map and quick video tour. The short solid lines on the map show blocked off parts we will not use. Biggest issue is a banked turn at the north end that's a bit too fast for us old guys. The straight is 1000' long so you will get a chance to wind it out.

Two questions:
1.) What is the direction of travel?
2.) How much are the track fees?

They run it both ways....as I recall....but since Howie is conservative....most likely to the "right".....

Paul-
I can't believe you used that girl for your avator!! She is so creepy. I still think she is animation or came from that movie Westworld as a robotic hooker.

well it would be nice to use the whole track but with a speed limit on the big turn, if we doubled the track fee could we use the whole track

We'll be running clockwise. That way we are heading uphill at the end of the straight, less stress.
We don't need to use the whole track. No one is going to master that track in an afternoon. I haven't in three years but I'm kinda slow. Trust me when I say, the track may be small but it's a handfull. You will be working the steering, brakes and shifter full time. There's only a couple of seconds break on the straight, barely enough to check your gauges. It will be fun.

Anyone have any more video's of the track configuration we'll be running?
I need to study so I can focus on learning the car, not the track...

Streets is a really fun track. Going clockwise or counter clockwise. Here’s a quick tour going clockwise. Turn 1 is the kink at the end of the straight, you can take it going flat out uphill to turn 2. Turn 2 is a blind turn, you have to turn in before you see the turn, if you don’t, you will end up in the gravel. Going to Turn 3 is downhill, make the turn to the outside of the sweeper uphill to turn 4. Turn 4 is tight, just try to get around it. From Turn 4 to Turn 5 is a uphill sweeper. Turns 5 and 6 can be driven as a double apex turn. Coming off Turn six is downhill, there is a chicane, if you hit it right, you can blast straight thru at full throttle, you’ll feel the tires on each side of the car bounce, one at a time as you blast thru the chicane. At the bottom is Turn 7, a hard left, don’t loose it there, there is a really big hole off to the right that will rip your suspension off, bend a wheel if you hit it. Turns 8 and 9 are ok. If you hit the skid pad right, you can throw your car into a 4 wheel drift, 3rd gear, full throttle back onto the straight, do not lift, you’ll go into the wall if you do.
One suggestion. In the morning, take your first 2 laps of each run group under yellow (caution) flag to warm up tires. There’s a lot of old rubber on that track, with cold tires, it can get real slippery.
My best time at Streets is 1:23.5 with POC, driving my stock 914-6. Have fun and be safe. Later, Don

The only thing I would add to Don's narrative is most of the turns use a late apex. The track is tight and you run out of pavement fast if you turn in too early.

It's a very fun track. In addition to all the turns, note the elevation changes on the map...which means the car is weight-transferring up and down as well as left-right. For me the only "pucker spots" (clockwise) are braking and downshifting for 2 where the rear gets a bit light and squirrely, and then finding the cajones to carry proper speed down the hill through the kink. I have the same issue on the Willow big track in turn 5...in both places you're accelerating balls-out downhill towards a 90+ deg left hander.
I would add a suggestion to everyone to bring plenty of water, snacks, sunscreen & hat etc., chair, and an EZ-up if you have one. This is a "primitive" facility in the middle of the desert. The sun and wind can get brutal and the only shelter is in a non-A/C'd cinderblock garage, or the portapotties.
You may also want to bring a gas can or two, as your options will be $5/gal race gas or driving 9 miles back to the freeway junction for pump fuel.
