I am trying to clean out all the spares I have. I have a choice of a good set of each type of heat exchangers. I like the light weight of the SSI but to me they do not sound as good as the stock one.

Right now I am leaning to the stock with a Dansk banana muffler. biggrin.gif

Any thoughts?

911 engine? If option A are early factory heat exchangers, there's little loss in choosing over the SSI versions (Option B). If option A are the post-73 type (single crossover), you would be giving up some power.

Not a -6 engine. Bumped 75 2.0 L.

Tangerine. I know it's not an option but that's my answer.

From what I have read, the stock '75/6 2.0 exhaust is a bit of a dog.
The SSI's would be a better performance choice.

OOPS I forgot to mention that I was using 73-74 2.0L stock heat exchangers NOT 75-76 ones.

In that case Marc, the performance would be about the same, the sound is all in your ears & taste - so your choice (but hang onto the SSIs for back-up), but you'd have to watch for rust both inside & outside on the stock mild steel set so you don't CO icon8.gif yourself.

IMHO the new Dansk banana sounds the same as the OE ones did (except for the better flowing old Leistritz Sport version Banana, like the one sitting in my garage for my resto ;-) - plus you get a chrome tip with the Dansk!
(on the tail-pipe - not you ;-)

Cheers! beerchug.gif
