Hi,

first I thought the heater control flapper boxes are the same for a /4 and a /6. The only difference I noticed - the /6 have a hole in the cover, which the /4 does not have. But also the diameter of the tube is different.

Left: /4 NOS box with removed cover
Middle: sandblasted box from my /6
Right: /6 NOS box

Interesting... I'm using 914-4 heater boxes with my six and stock six heat exchangers.
The only issue I have is the cables are short, so I added VW throttle extenders.

You are correct about -6 being different than the -4.

So the /6 tube is 5mm smaller than the /4 tube? Not a huge difference.
The bleed off on the /6 has a hole in it, the smaller tube would flow slightly less, but the hole would help it flow more. Likely a lot more than a /4.

The logical reason for the bleed off is to cool the heat exchangers to prevent warpage, cracking, etc.

How much longer is the arm?
