Has anyone ever replaced the copper contacts that have a wear hole in them?

Not sure how you'd do it. Besides part is still available and relatively inexpensive.

Sure you could find another used one or buy a cheap new one for parts. Switch you have there is missing the return spring and the two plastic spring holders.
