Reading through some articles on Porsche/Fuchs related materials one article mentioned something about Fuchs Knock offs (copy cats).
How do I determine if the ones I have are the real deal?
wheel from the front
wheel from the back side
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Your wheels are genuine, you can see the little "fox" stamped in the back, along with the numbers, etc. Fuchs is German for fox.
.... & also the VW logo & part nos. are correct for the 914.
For those looking at these pix regarding their own wheels vs. proper fitment - the p/n on gandolfs ending in the .... .01 relate to that groove around the center hole to fit onto the 73> hub-centric self-centering hub's rimsticking out at the front wheel hubs.
There are also p/n .... .00 wheels out there manufactured without the groove (Mahle 4-lug & Pedrini too) which will only fit the 70-72 914s - unless somebody has the grooves machined into the wheels (preferably all 4 or 5 for interchangeability on tire rotation & flats).
Fakes - or more correctly, Repros will have that manufacturer's p/n & logo etc. on the back instead.
