Yup, only 30 more days till the WCC. Hopefully most of you attending are ready, some of us are not or at least I am not. Both cars still need to be primered and both still need mucho body work. I am going to cut off the mangled piece from my rear fender and replace it. There are holes and stuff in it and I just dont think it will ever be right. I think I will get to it today. I have to kick some major bottom to get these done in time. Anyone who wants to stop by and assist is welcome. Lots of sanding to do and prepping. It wont be perfect but it will be close. I hope most of you are more ready than I am.
Joe Bob
I'm probably gonna piss off the lot of ya and bring the 911.....

I had no idea that you were planning to drive a 914 to the WCC, much less the extreme makover car. I just looked at the progress pictures - looks great! But like you said, it's going to be close. I'd be interested to hear more about your custom fuel injection system. Look forward to seeing you there.

Let's see, on my checklist is:
1 check tire pressure
2 check oil
3 pack car
4 get gas
5 cross fingers that I make it there and back

I think I can handle that!

Well, let's see..... I'm working on a trade with the body shop up the street to swap the Black car for paint & body on the Blue car. If that works out, all I gotta do is pack the Blue car for the WCC. If that doesn't work out, I gotta track down the motor gremlins that cause the Black car to miss when it warms up. Then weld in the new battery tray, engine lid hinge, rear trunk pivot, partial front cowl, and passenger floor pan. Then take it to the WCC to get a bunch of folks that didn't bring a 914 to drive it, and try & sell it to pay for the paint & body work for the Blue car. So....ya see...I hope I can make a deal with the body shop & save myself a lot of welding. wink.gif

1. Light a fire under my friend in LA to get one of his two sixes running for me.... laugh.gif

2. Install new carb and see if the V8 still fires up. Find someone to trailer it South or borrow my old MPV and Muellers trailer.

3. Put Neo914 on hold, but have the V6TT engine, tranny, and a garage full of parts. Just need the flared body back from Seattle.

4. Get a gift for my wife who's birthday is on the 21st. ohmy.gif

You dont have to finish it, you just need to make it run and drive and stop. I am sure nobody wants to break down during the WCC. In fact, I dont ever want to break down, but it is a 30+ year old 914.
biggrin.gif
mike_the_man
Well, since I'm bringing my Audi I hope that I don't have too much to do. Get my summer wheels straightened and put them on, and maybe replace the timing belt. Yay! I've gotta check to see when the timing belt was done last. Not something that I feel like attempting, and it ain't gonna be cheap!

So, whos got a 914 for me to drive when I get there? biggrin.gif Hell, I'd be happy just riding shotgun.

Greg, I didn't realize you were planning to bring the ultimate 914. I've been following the build with interest, and I look forward to seeing it. Must be pretty nice to have such easy access to all those cool parts!
