I got 12,000 miles on both clutch, and throttle cables. My ? is what is the interval for changing. I have inspected them, and they look OK forward and aft. I do carry a extra set along with alternator belt in trunk. The belt also has the same mileage.

The original clutch cable in my '70 1.7 broke at about 35,000 miles. I should replace the clutch and accel cables about every 25,000 miles, but i would guess my average is about 40,000 for replacement. Have not had another clutch cable break since 1976, but have had to reweld the tube.
