Hey, and thanks in advance

can someone clarify for me which model of solex carb was offered on the euro 1.8 teeners?

I thought it was a pair of dual throat solex 40mm p4 carbs.. (4 barrels total)

but I'd like to fact check my thoughts...
was it instead twin solex single throat carbs (2 barrels total)

just interested in the actual factory offered set up details
thanks in advance.

Drawing of the manifold from the PET. wink.gif I think that answers your question. The carb isn't called out in the PET, but the linkage, manifolds and air cleaner setups are identical to the ones that came in the T4 powered VW Bus. So its reasonable to think the carbs were the same as well. I don't recall the exact model of carb, but it's certainly single throat.

They look a lot like the early T4 bus, but bigger 40 vs 34mm.

The manifolds look a lot like what's on a Puma.

Just in case anyone thinks the T3 may be the same, it's not. The T3 is a T1 engine.

That's why i didn't say "same" but instead said "similar" ...

The filter box looks very similar to the one for the 2.0 DJet. The box opening for the TB might be snorkel adaptable for the intake. Sealed CB turbo carb covers and some creative tubing?
