Is there a problem with welding in the caps over the big holes on the floor pan. I took them off when I was cleaning out the floor tar and I dont see any use in sealing them up like the factory did. Is ther ever a use to having access to these holes or is it ok to weld them down?

They're a great way to covertly dispose of contraband if you ever pulled over in a compromising situation.
Good for draining rainwater from our oh so waterproof interiors.
Just a couple of reasons not to - there's probably a million others.
Apparently they were only used for the manufacturing process and they have no other useful function now. Go ahead, weld 'em up.

Yeah, the replacement floors just have circles there to 'appear' original. No purpose that we have...just make sure you use a good seam sealer.
