Wow...

That's got to be just a little 'overpriced', right?

Obviously too many drugs in her youth damaged too many leetle gray cells! wacko.gif

.... or else, it's one of those: "just for sheets & grins" or else "I really don't want to sell it, but if someone will pay me stooopid money for it, then I can get that new Boxster!" biggrin.gif

Waste of an ad space & ink IMHO! dry.gif

PS - maybe she meant $7,000 & not 70k!? confused24.gif

If it is VIN# 4702900002 then maybe the price is right.

She is local, I think her husband started a 914 club decades ago that had a monthly mailer.

The email address contains "9146" in it- I suspect the title to the add just doesn't specify. Nowhere in the body of the ad did I see "1.7"

Can someone post the details? Could it be Barbara Lafarge?

Yes it is her, has her name on the ad.

I don't have the copy in front to post the details, it does mention some rust around the windshield from what I remember.

That VIN is not in the data base !

My 1.7 is worth more than that.

Checked ad in Pano. NO mention that it's a -6 (other than email address teaser). Hence, the assumption it's a 1.7, since the ad states matching #s. Also, as previously noted, there's "some rust". Price does seem a tad high for what's apparently being advertised. Even with the Seinfeld effect. I also looked online, but couldn't find the ad via logical search for "914". Maybe pulled or already sold if it's that special?

Per comment about VIN. Wouldn't the VIN start with 914xxx if it were a -6? Hard to say without more info.

FYI

I sent Hagerty updated photos of my modified 914/4 2.2L. (4!!) per their request. Engine bay, suspension, dash, lighting, etc.

I received a call yesterday from a rep that (was selling) was offering an increase in the guaranteed value from my present 25K to, at a minimum, no less than 40K in the event of a loss.

For 160.00USD additional annually, the stated and guaranteed value is now 40K. Done.
