Found this web site claiming to have sales information on 914-6
cars. Says he has been collecting data since 1996.

My cars VIN shows up on his list, but I bought my car in 1973 from a Porsche
Dealer.. Car has never been advertised for sale.

The only place there could be any info on my car is in the VIN list on this site.
So apparently this person is mining the 914 World VIN Info, not just the
Classifieds for cars for sale/ sold..

Anyone know this guy ??? Is he a member here ?

I also have seen this site and my six was listed so I sent an e-mail to see what info was available on it. Crickets.... no response.

My guess is it's a guy/gal who spends their spare time searching online for 914-6's & info as a hobby, & this site would come up on a google search by VIN &/or 914-6.

I was still in college in `73, so I got my 73 2L in Dec 75 - a few years less ownership history than you, & IIRC you're a 2nd owner too.

Since the name of his Web Site is

914-6 Advertising History,

I'd expect it to contain info on classified ads for
cars that were listed for sale and sales transaction info.

Since my car has never been advertised for sale anywhere.
I found it interesting my car is listed there.

He does list the classifieds on the 914-World and other sites
as sources of information. And yes, he does add the disclaimer
"not limited to" or some such phrase.
He apparently digs deeper for info than just the classifieds..

Yup that's Larry's site. He lives a couple of hrs away from me.
I've talked to him in the past and seams to be a good guy with a lot of info.

Just for grins, I sent him an email asking about mine since I've owned it for almost 40 yrs. Got a response back from him in like 4 hours!
He shows my VIN listed in a Panorama ad in 1996; obviously a typo/misprint.

He also had a copy of the note I sent to Glenn Stasik back in 2000 about the car.

I really wish Larry or someone would make a comprehensive website to celebrate the 914/6 - its development and racing history, special characteristics compared to the 914/4 and of course...a 914/6 registry. Would be nice to know how many are remaining.

When I had one of my Sixes, Larry contacted me and had everytime the car was For Sale, Where & How Much!

I have exchanged e-mails with Larry a few times this week.
As stated by others, he is a good guy..

My concerns were unwarranted and I just wanted to say that
in public.. He seems to be a very good resource for our cars..
