I'm really tempted but it's just bad timing for me. I have too many cars and a couple of kids that are about to be married and looking for loans from dad and mom for house down payments. Damn!. Someone needs to check this car out. Anyone know this one?

Need better pics but looks like a sweet car.

Tell your kids to do what everyone without wealthy parents does, 0% down and pay mortgage insurance. And then you can buy this no problem. wink.gif

Do your due diligence

I talked to the original EBay seller who had a very reasonable BIN back around Christmas time, said it had been stored in a container for some time. it sold quickly
( or the auction was pulled off?) Then it eventually showed up here for a day or so after a month or so later. It then went into hybernation again for awhile and I received a message a few weeks ago from the original seller wondering if i was still interested because the deal fell thru.....??

Looks like a nice rare a/c car, but not sure why it's on and off and has never found a new owner.

Might want to read through these other threads before dealing with that seller.

It may not have the original carpet kit in it. The carpet pattern style is from the 75-76 model year cars. The window cranks are also from a 75-76. There is no picture of the production month, so this may be one of those cross-over cars where the factory changed parts for the new model year. Generally though, you see earlier parts in the newer model year cars, not the other way around.

It does have the later foam heat insulating pad in the rear trunk which was used in the later 74's and on into the 75-76 models.
tod914
Agree with the carpet. That is the late style.

It should have the rubber mat in the trunk, but it has the foam one encased in vinyl like Greg pointed out.

What's the deal with the silver vin decal? http://bowlsby.net/914/Classic/PLM.htm
Every original 73+ car that I've seen has had black.

gcrotvik
It also has the later 75-76 style plastic fuel evaporation chamber.

If you look at the VIN tag in the front trunk, just below it there looks to be the secondary black identification tag that was used in the 75-76 cars. This car may very well be a cross over car that sports later, 75-76 parts. That may make it unique.

If I were to venture a guess at the production month, I'd say this is car was produced in 7/74 or 8/74. I can message the eBay seller and ask.

A fair number of tasty looking 914s have listed on Ebay with pix in that very garage. Tough to miss with the cars on the lift in the background.

production is 6/74 vin is 47429 206xx
It is a cross over with elements of 1975 production- Nothing has been changed on this car- I have many more 914's and 914-6's i know these cars very well!
JeffBowlsby
Its common to see these 1975/76 car features on late 1974 models, I have seen them many times. With the exception of the window winders...those were not original to the car.

the VIN labels came in silver and black, and were applied based on car body color, either light or dark. You will never see a black label on a black car for example.

Looks like a nice 914 BTW, it would be on my buy list without checking it out further.

Hi Jeff thanks for commenting! will have to investigate winders as i have another 74 very close in serial numbers with the same winders as this car Good to know your keeping eye open on these!

I don't usually buy a car with 113,000 miles, but when I do, I resell it as a car with 13,000 miles ... "He is --- the most deceitful used car salesman in the world".

I personally dealt with this owner, "lostreasure", aka "luvcars", it was the worst experience I have ever had trying to purchase a car. I have never dealt with someone in any capacity who’s actions were so manipulative, or deceitful. He just plain, flat out lies. He pulls ALL of his eBay auctions; it’s his MO. Another slick move he pulls is posting on eBay with multiple model types noted for his vehicle. If he’s selling a 914, it will also be tagged as a 911, 356, etc, so someone searching for a 911, will have his listing for a 914 pop up, b/c hey, you never know maybe that person will buy his 914, even though they’re looking for a 911. Imagine if everyone listed their cars, or products like this on eBay — you’d almost never be able to find anything. He’s been busted may times here as well Ferrari Chat & Lamborghini Chat.

Here are some references & links to make your hair stand on end.

Guys PLEASE stay away from this seller. Frank has done many people wrong. Kept tens of thousands of dollars. The Countach was for sale years ago and no matter how much people tried to help make it happen, it was a disaster. This 914 was sold only to have Frank keep the money. There are many threads about him in the Lamborghini world. BTW, the importing of the Countach was not straight.
I think even I communicated with this guy to help make a deal happen. He semed nice enough but in the end it was hell for everyone involved.

Here’s just one thread:

If you go against all credible evidence from multiple, unrelated individuals, and attempt to deal with this guy --- all i can say is, you've been warned and enjoy your trip into hell.

Are you referring to JumperBolt?

Look at the link from FerrariChat before you chastise him.

I'm not involved in any of this mess; however, where's there's smoke there's usually fire.

You are absolutely wrong- I have never ever scammed anyone! yes i didnt sell a countach to a buyer in Europe because he did not make payment as agreed in the listing! Period! Look at my feedback on ebay over 3 years as i have sold 6 cars and every one was extremely happy- Yes there is some one here on 914 world that tried to buy a 914-6 from me recently and when i would not negotiate he threatened to send out as many negative info as possible- talk to people like Brad Mayeur as i have bought many 914's from him- I build houses here in NJ for many prominent officials-
lostreasure
113,500? no it is 13,500 miles- have documentation to prove-anyone that makes a false claim without any proof should not be takin seriously! Why would you make that claim?
lostreasure
yes- i end auctions early if i find a buyer before auction ends-as i have porsches listed on other forums, craigslist and local dealers-I dont hold out for every penny as i would prefer a sincere buyer that follows through- Actually Bring a Trailer maybe best place to sell as buyers have obligation(credit card on file) to purchase-Yes this red survivor will be sold prior to end as i have multiple offers already-

Buyer Beware is correct.

No dog in this fight, well....I got scammed hard before on our 930 because I didn't do my due diligence. Frank, I've had my friend, Chris Pomares, reach out (a couple of times now) to you via your eBay ad to get more info. All you've ever replied to him was that the car was in Bridgeport. Know that already. So far, imho, you may fare better with better communication. I told Chris to no longer consider this for my 914 Polo project. Too bad for me if your cars' honestly for real. Once bitten as they say.

After looking at this car more closely it still does look quite original and impressive and could be a 13,000 mile car however, how would those bumper tops get so bad with that few miles?
