Andy,

Do you experience enough glare to make you wish you had chosen a flat finish, or is it not noticable?

It's not a problem. Depending on the angle of the sun, you sometimes get a bit of a reflection in the windshield but it's really not an issue.

The one thing that bugs me about the Getty dash has nothing to do with the CF. The top lip that covers the gauges does not extend far enough and at night you get a partial reflection of your gauges on the windshield.
I've been thinking about adding an additional strip of rubber (or something similar) to completely block that off.

You could put more padding under your dash top vinyl as well...

No dash top vinyl, the Getty dash is a one piece that also has CF for the dash top.

Here is the gauge cluster I built for our car.

I kept thinking of the same scenario Andy is describing, so I made sure to extend mine out to at least the stock dash size. Having glare from or on the gauges is no bueno. Perhaps the OP might be able to convince his buddy to build a few more of those dashes, now that the hard part is done? It really does look sweet! So does Andy's of course.

To the OP; It looks fantastic Eddie. How many man hours start to finish. Any "gotcha's" getcha along the way? beerchug.gif Kent

Thanks kent, my guess is around thirty hours maybe a little less, as far as "gotchas" installing it sure did cut up my hands.

Your dash came out great! We reached out to the same craftsman (will keep name anonymous) a little over a year ago for ours too. Quality is second to none, and it will be a focal point when our build is complete. See below for more pictures of our dash from the same craftsman.

Great idea to remove the foam padding and replace with a non-forgiving hard brittle material headbang.gif stirthepot.gif
