30 years ago a gal was driving from CA to Seattle, her 1974 2.0 caught fire, a shop replace all engine bay Harness's, when she got to Seattle the car was put in a Barn.
10 years ago I got the 914 and pulled the harness off the engine..It at the time still had the PN tag on it... So as you can see it is Not brittle and has been inside for a long time .... $175 OBO
